Cerner Acquires AbleVets IT Consulting Firm

Cerner Corporation, a healthcare-focused IT company from Kansas City, Missouri, has acquired AbleVets for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2012 and based in the Washington, DC area, AbleVets is a strategic IT consulting and engineering firm specializing in cyber, cloud and system development solutions for federal and commercial organizations. AbleVets will remain a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cerner.

The acquisition gives Cerner greater scale and technical expertise in designing and implementing modernization solutions, particularly in the federal space, according to the company.

Travis Dalton, president, Cerner Government Services, commented on the deal:

AbleVets was founded as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. The company’s 350 professionals will all join Cerner, according to the company.
