BCS ProSoft is acquiring Steward Consulting Inc. (SCI); the deal unites two of Sage's top U.S. consulting partners. The buyout is expected to close on September 1. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Both companies are Sage Master Developers, and they each have been Sage business partners since the early 1990s. Together, the firms deliver business software solutions for accounting and financial management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), human capital management (HCM), manufacturing, distribution, and rental clientele.

About BCS ProSoft & SCI

BCS ProSoft is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas -- with regional offices in Houston and Denver. The company has roughly 1,500 customers. BCS also has Deltek and Oracle NetSuite business management system expertise.

Steward Consulting Inc.'s eight-person team will remain in Tulsa, Oklahoma. SCI also has relationships in Kansas and Missouri  -- where the company hosts customer conferences and is active in Sage 100 user groups.

Explaining the deal, BCS President William Vespe said:

"I’m confident our new team members in Tulsa will continue to add value to our existing Sage clients. In addition to having new staff in our support, consulting, upgrade and development departments, their deep expertise in Sage 100 and JobOps, as well as other solutions, are a huge win for our collective clients.”

In an announcement letter to clientele, SCI Founder and CEO Darin Steward wrote:

“BCS is a valued Sage reseller who shares our goals of exceptional quality customer service and our vision for helping customers achieve the needed results from their business software solution. BCS will be able to provide our clients with greater resources to improve their use of Sage 100, along with other Sage Software products and add-ons solutions as their businesses continue to change.”

Darin Steward is transitioning to Scanco -- a warehouse management software firm -- in a VP role. The rest of the SCI team joins BCS ProSoft.

Mergers, Acquisitions: Sage Partners

M&A activity among Sage partners is common, though it hasn't reached a fever pitch this year. A deal in June united SWK Technologies and Information Systems Management Inc. (ISM), a Sage channel partner and West Coast-based reseller of ERP, CRM and other solutions.
