Allied Universal Acquires Securadyne Systems for Security Services

Santa Ana, California-based security firm Allied Universal is buying Securadyne Systems, a security systems integration firm based in Dallas, Texas.

Allied Universal is a $7.1 billion company with with more than 210,000 employees. The M&A deal involves an arm of that business called Allied Universal Technology Services — which will now have more than 500 employees and 27 locations across the United States.

Allied claims the technology services unit will be the fourth largest security systems integrator in the country, though we haven’t independently confirmed that claim. The business unit gains Securadyne’s threat detection and security services driven by artificial intelligence, the companies assert.

Securadyne, founded in 2011 by CEO Carey Boethel, had 300 employees ahead of the deal. Boethel now shifts to president of Allied Universal Technology Services. Meanwhile, Allied veteran Ty Richmond will now oversee the company’s Risk Advisory and Consulting Services, as well as the firm’s international business.

Executive Perspectives

Commenting on the deal, Allied Universal CEO Steve Jones said:

“Our new acquisition of Securadyne Systems supports our long-term strategy to become the leader in the security technology market. As security needs change and evolve, Allied Universal will offer clients cutting-edge technology and service that will help make their security programs more effective and efficient to better protect their employees and assets.”

Meanwhile, Boethel says the two companies shared a similar culture:

“In addition to our systems integration platform, we are excited to now offer our clients a comprehensive approach to security to include security guarding, consulting and investigations, executive protection, alarm monitoring and a broad array remote technology services.”
