Templates, Tools, Leadership Lessons – Things Not to Miss at Build IT Live
In 2019, IT By Design launched Build IT Live, an in-person MSP Executive Educational conference, as part of its commitment to knowledge sharing with its partners. Eliminating the need to “reinvent the wheel,” the first edition of the conference facilitated a positive exchange of ideas between business owners and experts, setting a new bar for channel events that focus on education, not product pitches.
The inaugural event brought over 400 MSP community members together to share best practices and clearly met its purpose of providing actionable knowledge for business leaders within the IT channel. Of course, the ITBD leadership had high expectations for the event, but they were completely overwhelmed by the enthusiasm, engagement, energy, and open exchange of ideas that happened on the main stage, in the breakout sessions, and during the networking time.
After two consecutive successful years, Build IT Live is back with its winning formula—providing educational content specifically designed for MSPs. Unique in the channel, this year’s Build IT Live is all set to provide MSPs the opportunity to network and learn from true educators in a structured format, in Jersey City, New Jersey, from August 30th to September 1st.
MSP-focused Content Galore
With all MSPs operating in an ever-changing landscape of products, vendors, and new technology, it can be challenging to remain competitive. Understanding the root cause of these challenges, Build IT Live’s top-tier educators will teach the attendees how to continue improving their businesses in a variety of areas.
Build IT Live will provide three full days of 48 interactive breakout sessions led by industry experts that address nine critical business domains. These breakouts will include productive discussions on specific MSP pain points across Leadership, Human Resources, Culture, Team Development, Sales & Marketing, and more.
Each breakout session will align with a variety of actionable templates, tools, and other content tailored for the IT channel. These editable tools and templates will be provided to registrants in soft copy format along with “how to use” guides. All these resources can be integrated and immediately deployed by MSPs in their tech environment immediately.
Deep Dives into Sales & Marketing
In the post-COVID economy, there will be a greater focus on sales and marketing to help MSPs grow and scale their business. Traditional sales and marketing tactics aren’t enough to stay competitive in this landscape. At Build IT Live, MSPs will learn how to define, position, and price their offering, as well as discover new sources to generate leads. Some of the Marketing and Sales-focused breakouts at the event will educate the audience on:
- Brand Elements, Style Guide, and Personas
- Managing Corporate Brand
- Marketing Automation
- Storytelling, Social Selling, and Podcasting
- Talent Marketing Strategy
- Components of a Sales Playbook
- Hiring Top Sales Talent
- Hybrid Sales & Sales Management
- Sales Performance Management
In addition to learning how to attract new talent in today’s market via Culture and HR-focused breakouts, attendees will also get tips on improving their service delivery and fostering customer success. These Service and CX-focused breakouts will cover important topics of Scrum, Customer Loyalty, Offboarding, Project Management, and Service Improvement Plans. Through Finance, Leadership, and Strategy breakouts, attendees will also be able to formulate strategies that encourage scalability and growth to take their business to the next level of operational maturity.
For leaders, by leaders
The mission of Build IT Live is a complete focus on education—paired with interactive, engaging forums for MSP leaders to deepen expertise on innovation. As part of ITBD’s continued commitment to lifelong learning, the breakouts will be available for functional leaders within an MSP business—not just the CEOs, but also CHROs, finance heads, sales officers, service delivery managers, and more.
Other than IT By Design leadership, attendees will interact with industry leaders such as Rob Rae from Datto, Jack Daly, Shona Elliot, Adam-Slutskin from Liongard, and Gary Pica from TruMethods. Did we mention that America’s favorite motivational speaker, Gary Vaynerchuk will be at Build IT Live, and this will be Gary’s first time appearing LIVE in the IT Channel.
Special focus on security
Despite increased awareness of the importance of strong cybersecurity measures, many small- to medium-sized MSPs continue to be vulnerable to cyberattacks with the increased use of cloud technologies over the last year. The Security-focused breakouts will help attendees discover how to create security frameworks to keep their business – and their clients’ businesses – secure. Templates and tools provided during security-focused breakouts will immediately help them implement stricter cybersecurity measures and safeguard their network from socially engineered attacks. Some of the security breakout topics include:
- Cloud Security
- Risk Mitigation and Management
- Deception Tools
- Hacking & Hackproofing
- Managing Risk in a COVID World
- Remote Employee Security
- Selling SOC
- SOC2 Certification
A line up of exciting new products
During Build IT Live’s second annual edition, hosted virtually in 2020, IT By Design CEO Sunny Kaila and President Kam Kaila unveiled several initiatives during their welcome keynote to more than 1,000 registrants. During this year’s event, the Master MSP is expected to launch a groundbreaking performance management platform that will help MSPs solve modern-day business problems.
It’s always exciting to network, share valuable insight, and even discuss similar challenges with other MSPs. Engaging with the MSP community is also key to promoting your business. A great way to achieve this will be attending Built IT Live which facilitates “knowledge sharing” among members of the MSP community.
As part of the unique experience that is Build IT Live, IT By Design has also organized a PRIVATE dinner at the Statue of Liberty for attendees as the offsite experience, something that has never been done before in the IT Channel.
