NexusTek Unveils Nationwide, Unified Managed IT Services for SMBs

After acquiring multiple MSPs, private equity-backed NexusTek has unveiled a nationwide suite of manage services solutions.

The four plans -- NexusTek Essential, NexusTek Remote, NexusTek Dedicated, and NexusTek Complete -- were designed for SMBs “plagued by fragmented offerings, complex pricing, and a lack of skilled IT personnel,” the company said in a prepared statement.

The NexusTek Managed Service Plans each offer fixed-monthly, per-user pricing; helpdesk, backup and disaster recovery capabilities; and a host of support options and network monitoring services to help SMBs create predictable IT budges, the company said.

NexusTek CEO Mike Jenner commented on the roll out:

“NexusTek Managed IT Service Plans deliver superior technology, 24x7x365 support and engineering expertise to SMBs hindered by staffing shortages and that lack the resources to deploy or effectively manage IT environments. We know that without a dedicated IT department to actively monitor networks, devices and applications, an alarming number of companies are dangerously unprepared to prevent network outages, security breaches and other potentially catastrophic incidents. NexusTek strives to address this need and help businesses from coast to coast harness the transformative power of technology to their advantage.”

The Managed IT Service Plans break down as follows:

  • NexusTek Essential: leverages enterprise monitoring and security platforms for medium-sized businesses.
  • NexusTek Remote: couples unlimited helpdesk with emergency support to help ensure network stability and prevent downtime.
  • NexusTek Dedicated IT Services: includes a dedicated engineer who routinely schedules hands-on services. As part of this package, NexusTek says it can augment existing IT staff.
  • NexusTek Complete: is the company’s premier managed service offering and includes everything in the three other plans.

Poke around and you'll see that NexusTek also offers a range of cloud and cybersecurity services, among other areas of expertise.

NexusTek: Private Equity Funds Acquisitions

NexusTek, which is backed by private equity owner Abry Partners, has grown both organically and via mergers and acquisitions.

In August 2018, the company acquired three IT service providers to bolster its MSP, IT consultation, and professional services business. Another deal involved Zumasys. The company grew more than 100 percent last year, with more than 2,700 customer organizations served in 47 states, and more than 300 employees. We don't know actual revenue and profit figures, however.

The NexusTek moves reinforce private equity's growing roll across the MSP and broader technology market -- influencing software, hardware, cloud and IT service providers in all corners of the industry.
