Managed IT services provider ICS has acquired JB Kane, a Liverpool, New York-based IT consulting firm and HP Inc. partner. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ICS, founded in 1986, has offices in Syracuse, Endicott, and Ithaca, New York. JB Kane's seven employees will join ICS’s Syracuse office, raising the company’s headcount to 85. That includes JB Kane owner Jason Griffin, who acquired the company five years ago after serving as a long-time employee. He shifts to senior vice president of ICS, playing a key role within the company's Central New York business efforts.

“This integration has been gradually taking place over the past two months. It’s already clear that this was the best move for all parties,” Griffin said. “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the dynamics in the ever-changing IT field and ICS has provided us with the tools we need to make this a seamless transition for employees and clients alike. The satisfaction of our customers is and always has been our number one priority and the partnership with ICS enables us to better serve their diverse needs going forward.”

Jason Griffin and Kevin Blake celebrate the M&A deal.

ICS President and CEO Kevin Blake says integrating the two companies’ services made perfect sense. “I knew from our first meeting that JB Kane and ICS share the same core values, putting family, integrity, and teamwork above all else,” Blake said. “Mr. Griffin and the talented individuals he brings with him are a tremendous asset to ICS, and we’re thrilled to work alongside them to deliver the very best IT services to our clients.”
