Autotask Troubleshooting EMEA Cloud Issue

Autotask Corp., which provides cloud-based business management software for IT service providers, has been troubleshooting an EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) cloud issue since Friday, April 15.

According to an Autotask statement to ChannelE2E:

"On Friday April 15, we had a service interruption that lasted less than 30 minutes and impacted a portion of our EMEA customers on our PSA platform. Measures to resolve Friday’s disruption resulted in intermittent performance issues on Monday and Tuesday. Currently, access to archived files remains in a degraded state. We are working to fully restore this feature as quickly as possible and are in contact with affected customers.

We recognize that any disruption to our customers’ systems is serious and we apologize for these issues. As our first priority is to restore all functionality to our customers as quickly as possible, we have not yet completed root cause analysis."

We'll continue to check in with Autotask for progress reports on the issue.

Generally speaking, MSP-centric SaaS platforms have good track records for reliability, though there have been outages over the years. Autotask suffered an outage in mid-2014 and another issue in late 2014, according to third-party media sites. ConnectWise had an outage a few years back.

But... I concede I may have overlooked some outages from a range of vendors, since I was basically out of the market early 2014 through mid-2015. (Did I miss anything huge in the MSP and channel world, other than the occasional Office 365 darkness?)

In a painfully designed slideshow that's obvious click bait for traffic, CRN describes the 10 biggest outages of 2015.... most of which involved major names like Apple, Microsoft, Google and Verizon.
