TeamLogic IT’s Dan Shapero

TeamLogic IT's president position will transition from Chuck Lennon to Kaseya veteran Dan Shapero in March 2018, the IT services franchise network confirmed today. When Shapero arrives, Lennon will become executive VP focused on business development and franchise support.

Lennon has successfully scaled TeamLogic IT's franchise model for more than a decade, and he's widely respected across the IT channel. For 2017, network-wide franchisee revenues are up more than 30 percent. In addition, a record number of new TeamLogic IT franchisees opened in 2017, the company says. There are now more than 135 independently owned and operated locations across North America.

Brendan Cosgrove

True believers in the model include Brendan Cosgrove, another Kaseya veteran who recently joined TeamLogic IT's Mission Viejo, Calif., franchise as VP. Cosgrove praised Lennon's history leading the network, and also applauded Shapero's forthcoming arrival -- pointing to his vendor relationships and marketing knowhow across the MSP ecosystem.

Still, the executive transition arrives at a key market inflection point. Shapero will move into the president role during the middle innings of the cloud services revolution -- and the early stages of the IoT, big data and customer experience revolutions. MSPs and franchisees are also trying to determine how deep to go into managed security services. All those variables require an executive who understands market transitions, business models, marketing, sales, and technology services packaging. Shapero has extensive expertise in each of those areas.

Dan Shapero's Experience

During the early days of the MSP software market, Shapero drove various marketing and education programs for Kaseya -- helping thousands of VARs and startup IT service providers to embrace recurring revenue business models. He's also a certified public accountant, and he has run a marketing-centric startup that helps MSPs to build their brands and sales pipelines. Shapero also understands cloud-centric distribution services, based on key experience at Ingram Micro.

Lennon and Shapero have run in similar circles. Both executives have been active CompTIA members in various capacities. And it sounds like they'll bring additional talent into the halls of TeamLogic IT. In a prepared statement, the company said: "Over the next year, TeamLogic IT will be adding multiple other franchise support staff to the organization to support the company’s explosive growth."

Shapero won't be working in a vacuum. In addition to tapping Lennon's expertise, he can plug into TeamLogic IT parent Franchise Services Inc. -- which also owns print and marketing services brands like Sir Speedy, PIP, Signal Graphics, Multicopy, and Eastnet Print.
