Sitehands Inc. Gathers Funding for On Demand IT Field Services

Sitehands, which is developing a digital marketplace that matches IT field service technicians with customer projects, appears to be in funding mode.

The company raised an additional $10.7 million from five investors after raising $15 million in the past year, according to North Carolina Business News Wire. ChannelE2E doesn’t know if the funding is in addition to the $25 million growth equity commitment that FTV Capital announced in June 2017 (we’re checking).

Sitehands “connects customer specific needs with vetted technicians through a two-sided marketplace and then extends that value to the customer by assuming full accountability for end-to-end service outcomes,” the company claims. “The company‚Äôs on-demand technology platform can easily scale to offer all types of hands-on IT field work at virtually any location, seamlessly connecting customers and technicians via simplified interactions.”

Founder and CEO JP Rosato also is executive chairman and founder of CS Technology, an IT Infrastructure advisory and execution firm focused on providing clients unique perspective into complex IT projects and programs.

Sitehands: Successor to OnForce, WorkMarket?

In some ways, Sitehands sounds like OnForce and WorkMarket, two on-demand talent marketplaces that recently rolled up into ADP. Still, there are some clear differences. OnForce matched IT pros with every type of IT project, all the way down to consumer and SOHO engagements. WorkMarket is more of a contractor management system that can mobilize large on-demand workforces if needed. Sitehands, meanwhile, appears to target midmarket and enterprise customers that need multi-location support.

The Sitehands platform apparently supports IT service providers and field service professionals that specialize in:

  • Infrastructure break-fix services for real-time emergency support.
  • IT projects and associated rollouts that are global, regional or one-time-only in nature.
  • Asset management — including inventory, documentation and associated assurances.
  • A/V (audio/visual) support including remote and in-room meeting technology
  • Workstation services including adds, changes and decommissions
  • Facilities management including surveys and issue identification

How IT Services Providers Can Engage

IT service providers that sign up for the Sitehands platform are grouped into one of three categories:

  1. Certified Provider Partner, which offers extensive visibility & access to the order queue based on known technician skills and certifications. That level also supports group marketing programs.
  2. Registered Provider Partner: Visibility and access to the order queue with tech certs in advance of order acceptance.
  3. Community Provider Partner: Joining the community is the first step to getting access to opportunity at your own pace, Sitehands says.

The company’s website does not disclose its financial model or payment model for partners.

Sitehands has won contracts from Fortune 100 companies, the platform provider says, though actual company names and the associated projects have not been publicly disclosed. We’ve reached out to the company for more details about its business.
