15. OpenStack Managed Services: AUROwhich claims to be Canada's first enterprise public cloud that offers IaaS, has announced a Managed OpenStack service.

14. Oracle Cloud Services: Oracle has launched its next round of Oracle Cloud Platform services. They feature built-in autonomous capabilities, including Oracle Mobile Cloud Enterprise, Oracle Data Integration Platform Cloud, and Oracle API Platform Cloud. With embedded artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, the platform services automate operational tasks to enable organizations to lower cost, reduce risk, accelerate innovation, and get predictive insights, Oracle claims.

13. Developers & IBM Cloud: Sysdig Inc. will support the company's Cloud-Native Intelligence Platform in IBM Cloud. Sysdig offers unified security, monitoring, and forensics for containers and microservices, giving users a view of the health of their cloud apps. By delivering its platform with the IBM Cloud, Sysdig plans to enable developer teams with tools to develop, deploy, and secure cloud-native apps, existing workloads moving to the cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures, the companies claim.

11. Momentum - SD-WANs: Ten months after its $610 million purchase of SD-WAN firm Viptela, Cisco says it has more than 800 new SD-WAN customers and that number is growing rapidly, according to SDx Central.

10, Momentum - Shared Office Space: WeWork's revenues grew 110 percent to $342 million last quarter, according to a staff email Thursday, Bloomberg says.

9. Talent - PCs: HP Inc. has named Alex Cho as president of its Personal Systems business effective immediately. Cho most recently served as VP and GM of the company’s Commercial PC business group. Cho succeeds Ron Coughlin, who is leaving HP to pursue a CEO opportunity outside the technology sector in his hometown of San Diego, California.

7. Distribution: Avail Partners is the 16th company to reach the Platinum Sales Partner level with Intelisys, the ScanSource-owned distributor says.

6. Retail IT Solutions: Microsoft is working on technology that would eliminate cashiers and checkout lines from stores, in a nascent challenge to Amazon's automated grocery shop, six people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

5. IT Services Contract Dispute: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security unevenly assessed bids on a $192.3 million IT services contract for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, evaluating a less expensive bidder more harshly compared to the contract awardee, the U.S. Government Accountability Office ruled in a decision made public Tuesday, Law 360 says. According to the report, DHS did not give 360 IT Integrated Solutions’ bid the same assessment as it gave to Inserso's bid.

4. CRM for Office 365: Nimble, a social sales and marketing CRM platform for Office 365, and Microsoft North American partner Velosio have announced a global reseller agreement.

3. Chat Software for MSPs: Atera has added a new chat feature to the company's MSP software platform, which already features RMM (remote monitoring and management), PSA (professional services automation) and remote access capabilities.

2. M&A - IT Solutions Provider: Smart applications specialist Veea Inc. has acquired Virtuosys, a smart network solutions provider. We'll share more details soon.
