12. Earnings: Palo Alto Networks delivered weaker-than-expected earnings yesterday. Tech Data delivered stronger-than-expected results this morning. We'll share more thoughts on the Tech Data results soon. Also, HP Enterprise and HP Inc. will deliver quarterly results later today.

11. Distribution: Updates include...

  • Avnet is the only distributor to represent all seven vendor leaders in the October 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Integrated Systems. The seven vendors acknowledged in the 2016 “Leaders” quadrant are: Cisco, EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), NetApp, Nutanix, Oracle and SimpliVity. Tech Data is set to acquire the Avnet Technology Solutions business, which represents those seven vendor relationships...
  • Tech Data has named Linda Rendleman as VP of product marketing, Client and Mobile Solutions. She now oversees strategic direction and go-to-market execution of the company's Client and Mobile Solutions business in the United States, including development of growth strategies and program implementation.
  • Weston-Comstor has agreed to distribute Mojo Networks' cloud-managed WiFi products.

10. Storage & Government Compliance: Veritas Technologies has launched Veritas Enterprise Vault 12.1, a FedRAMP Authorized SaaS data archiving solution. The release is designed to help customers address the Managing Government Records Directive.

9 . Avast SMB Leadership: Avast, which recently acquired AVG Technologies, has named Kevin Chapman as its new senior VP and GM of small business. Chapman is a Symantec veteran. We'll share more perspectives soon...

8. Trump vs. Net Neutrality: Donald Trump picked Jeff Eisenach and Mark Jamison, both fierce opponents of net neutrality, to oversee the transition at the FCC — good news for internet service providers, bad news for content companies that may have to pay the ISPs more to reach their customers at faster speeds, according to recode.

7. AWS Storage Price Cuts: Amazon has confirmed more AWS price cuts for Amazon S3 Standard and Amazon Glacier storage. In addition, the cloud services provider is adding two new retrieval options for Amazon Glacier customers.

6. AWS & Hybrid Cloud Monitoring: Gigamon today launched the Gigamon Pervasive Visibility Platform --- which allows service providers to monitor data-in-motion workloads whether they're on-premises or on Amazon Web Services.

5. Microsoft Azure Managed Services: HP Enterprise has launched managed services for Microsoft Azure. The HPE services team will design, deploy, deliver and maintain operational support for customers' Azure services. We're checking to see if HPE will productize the services for channel partners...

4. Ricoh Managed Services: Ricoh has launched its RICOH Application and Infrastructure Monitoring and Management Service (RAIMMS) offering. This service leverages know-how from mindSHIFT Technologies, which Ricoh acquired from Best Buy in 2014.

3. Internet M&A: Oracle has acquired DNS provider Dyn. You may recall that a major DDoS attack targeted Dyn in October 2016 -- causing massive connection failures across the Internet.

2. Partner Programs: cPacket Networks, which develops network performance monitoring and analysis solutions, has launched the cChannel partner program.
