Today’s Technology and MSP Partner Program News

  1. Mixed signals in the employment market: CompTIA’s Tech Jobs Report showed another month of mixed signals for employment in April. Tech companies added 18,795 workers during the month, the largest total since last August. But throughout the economy tech occupations declined by 99,000 positions. At the same time, employer job postings for tech positions surpassed 300,000 in April, a level last reached in October 2022.
  2. Worker productivity down: The U.S. is experiencing a drop in worker productivity for the first time in 75 years, according to a report in Fortune, marked by five consecutive quarters of declines. Inflation, burnout, and flexible work are big contributors that have impacted unit labor costs. The report speculates that this news may drive CEOs to increase their efforts to end work-from-home arrangements.
  3. Slack gets an upgrade: Salesforce will natively integrate conversational AI into its Slack collaboration platform. Slack GPT will deliver the ability to use generative AI app integrations, different language models, and the power to tap into secure customer data insights from the Customer 360 and Data Cloud, according to Salesforce. It will work with Einstein GPT to unlock the power of CRM and conversational data to make every organization more productive, the company said.
  4. Resilency analytics company gets new PE investment: Resilinc, a supply chain mapping, disruption sensing, and resiliency analytics company has received  a strategic growth investment from Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm that focuses on enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. Resilinc will use the growth capital to accelerate product innovation, talent, and go-to-market functions to meet the growing demand for more resilient, sustainable, secure, and transparent supply chains.
  5. Travel blues?: Business travel seems to be getting back to normal after three years of COVID. But are the delays and other inconveniences worse than ever? The White House plans to announce that the federal government is drafting new rules to require airlines to provide meals, hotels, and additional compensation to travelers on canceled or severely delayed flights, according to a Bloomberg report.
