Today’s Technology and MSP Partner Program News

  1. Focus Investment Bank has been named a Top 5 investment bank by Axial. Focus provides strategic guidance on business sales, business purchase, and raising cash to managed service providers, technology service providers, cloud providers and other businesses. Managing director Abe Garver serves as the MSP expert and market maker for managed service provider mergers and acquisitions at the 40-year-old investment banking company.
  2. ConnectWise is currently reviewing the results of its integration with OpenAI to create PowerShell scripts. ConnectWise intends to deliver the functionality to generate fully documented PowerShell scripts, including error handling from within the console, to ConnectWise Automate and ConnectWise RMM in April. The company announced this and more at its IT Nation London conference.
  3. Cybersecurity and observability technology provider Splunk has enhanced its unified and observability platform with improvements to Splunk Mission Control and Splunk Observability Cloud. The company also announced general availability of Splunk Edge Processor. See more complete coverage at our partner site, MSSP Alert.
  4. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that in August and September 2022, 27.5% of private-sector establishments had employees working remote (or teleworking, as they say) some or all of the time. Those industries with the highest percentage of remote workers were information (67.4%) and professional and business services (49.0%). These categories are fits for MSPs. But the real news is the big opportunity for MSPs and MSSPs to provide the networking and security services to enable these remote working environments.
  5. Granite Telecommunications, a $1.8 billion provider of communications and technology solutions to multi-location businesses and government agencies, announced that channel veteran Eric Stark has joined the company as Director of Regional Channel Sales - West.
