Cortado Mobile Solutions has added multi-tenancy capabilities to its Cortado Corporate Server enterprise mobility solution. The company said the new release ensures maximum security with minimal operating costs and administrative effort for MSPs.

The multi-tenant version of Cortado Corporate Server allows MSPs to create separate areas for multiple business customers on a single server. Each tenant has its own SQL database and connection to Microsoft's Active Directory, and MSPs can manage all customer accounts through a centralized management console.

Cortado noted MSPs that previously offered mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) to their customers needed a separate server for each business customer for security reasons. This often resulted in high hardware costs and complex customer setup and management.

According to Cortado, MSPs now can use Cortado Corporate Server to streamline app and device management, resulting in lower hardware costs and increased efficiency.

"Managed service providers need a cost-efficient way to offer enterprise mobility to their customers, and multi-tenancy is the key to such offerings," Cortado President Henning Volkmer told ChannelE2E. "MSP customers enjoy a custom, high-performance offering, while MSPs can earn a good margin on their offering."

How Does Multi-Tenancy Help SMBs?

With multi-tenancy, Cortado Corporate Server brings enterprise mobility to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

"Multi-tenancy is a great way to deliver enterprise mobility to SMBs. This could be a local trade group hosting a multi-tenant capable Cortado Corporate Server an MSP specializing in SMB offerings. They all would keep each business' data and users completely separate but would be able to offer a very cost-effective offering since the expensive hardware and software pieces (server, server OS) are used most efficiently," Volkmer said.

Volkmer also indicated Cortado Corporate Server delivers security and productivity advantages for SMBs.

"Native productivity and native security are the future of enterprise mobility, and Cortado Corporate Server delivers the best solution for any business," he stated.

Cortado and the MSP Market

The multi-tenant version of Cortado Corporate Server may prove to be the first of many Cortado enterprise mobility solution upgrades for MSPs.

Volkmer said Cortado is committed to helping MSPs deliver private cloud solutions to their customers. In addition, he stated Cortado will continue to invest in "best-in-class performance, user experience, security and productivity offerings."

"With Cortado, MSPs can enable their customer's business to benefit from a private cloud enterprise mobility solution with the ease-of-use and cost-efficiency of a public cloud service," Volkmer said.
