Apple Reseller Acquires MSP, Storage Expertise: Jigsaw24 Buys root6

Jigsaw24, a major Apple Mac reseller, has acquired root6, a managed services provider (MSP) with storage and IT media expertise. The combined company is the "most experienced audio and video technology services and solutions business in Europe," the combined companies claim. Financial terms were not disclosed.

root6, founded in 1997, has 45 employees and about £10 million in revenues (about US$12.5 million at current exchange rates). Roughly 50% of those revenues involve consulting and managed IT services, according to Prolific North. root6's key partners include Avid Technology, Adobe, AJA, FilmLight, Quantum and BlackMagic Design.

Jigsaw24 (Nottingham, UK) has operations in Manchester and its turnover will be about £100 million (about US $125 million) in the year to March 30, 2017, the report said. The company is an authorized Apple reseller and service provider.

Together, Jigsaw24 and root6 will "provide the depth and breadth of technical expertise needed to deliver the full range of Audio and Video Technology solutions and managed services," the companies assert.

Jigsaw24 is an M&A veteran. The company in 2014 acquired Square Group, another Mac-centric consulting firm. At the same time Jigsaw24 opened a Customer Experience & Service Centre in Soho, London in the heart of the UK’s Media & Entertainment Industry, NorthEdge Capital reported at the time.
