Data Storage Corp. has acquired ABC Services and ABC Services II, along with the remaining 50% ownership of Secure Infrastructure and Services, the companies have confirmed. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Data Storage Corporation (DSC) of New York focuses on data storage and protection, virtualization, managed and cloud services, email archival and compliance. Key vertical markets includee government, education and healthcare. Noteworthy partners include Microsoft Office 365 and IBM, among others.
ABC of Melville, New York (Long Island) is a 25-year provider of IBM equipment, IaaS, managed and professional services. Tom Kempster, president of ABC, becomes president of DSC’s Technical Operations Group. Hal Schwartz, president of Secure Infrastructure and Services, becomes DSC’s new president. Chuck Piluso remains CEO of DSC.
“We plan to grow our organization organically as well as through strategic acquisitions,” said Piluso in a prepared statement. “We have had a six-year relationship with Tom and Hal and are excited about the potential. As part of the acquisition, we expanded our client base, extended our service offerings and gained the expertise of an excellent management and technical team that has been providing managed services and infrastructure for over 25 years.”
The deal surfaces one week before IBM PartnerWorld 2017, a major conference in Las Vegas.

Multiple IBM-focused channel partners have been acquired in recent months — especially as IBM itself transforms for cloud, mobile, security and cognitive computing opportunities.
Among the example deals:
- Champion Solutions Group acquired Midrange Support & Service Inc. (MSSi) in July 2016. MSSi specializes in IBM i and Power solutions and services.
- Micro Strategies Inc. acquired New England Systems (NES), a Premier IBM Business Partner that specializes in big data, business analytics and information management solutions, in October 2016.
