HP Layoffs 2017: 500 Job Cuts Likely At Inkjet Cartridge Manufacturing Plant

HP Inc. layoffs will likely include nearly 500 job cuts at the company's inkjet cartridge manufacturing plant in Leixlip, the Irish Times reported. The cuts are part of an HP restructuring plan that the company announced in October 2016. Roughly 3,000 to 4,000 HP employees will lose their jobs as part of that three-year plan.

Still, the overall HP Inc. business has shown signs of progress since the Hewlett-Packard breakup created two separate companies -- HP Inc. and HP Enterprise -- in November 2015. On the partner front, HP Inc. Channel Chief Stephanie Dismore has focused on three ecosystem opportunities: (1) the core bread-and-butter products and services; (2) new innovations and (3) future opportunities like 3D printing and developments like Sprout.

HP in November 2016 announced earnings that met Wall Street's expectations and revenue that were ahead of expectations. HP will report its latest quarterly earnings on Wednesday, February 22.
