A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Our M&A list is back! - After being down for maintenance, we are now able to update our industry mergers and acquisitions list again. We have a fresh list posted for 2024, and our 2023 data set is now complete. Check out the whole thing here.

2. SD-WAN acquisition - Network-as-a-service provider Nitel has acquired Cleveland-based WAN Dynamics. The move represents another step in Nitel’s growth strategy that was put in place a little over two years ago when international private equity firm Cinven made a significant investment in Nitel. Operating under the Nitel brand, the combined organization will strengthen Nitel’s overall positioning as a leader in customer-focused solutions and enable deeper technical, management, and support capabilities around its managed SD-WAN offering. This is technology M&A deal number 74 that ChannelE2E and MSSP Alert have covered so far in 2024. See more than 2,000 technology M&A deals for 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020 listed here.

3. Data center acquisition - Data center and networking optimization firm Park Place Technologies has acquired Virginia-based SDV Solutions, which provides client-centric data center infrastructure solutions exclusively to Federal Government agencies. This is technology M&A deal number 75 that ChannelE2E and MSSP Alert have covered so far in 2024.

4. Dell's workforce reduction - Dell Technologies reduced its workforce as part of a broader initiative to cut costs that included limiting external hiring and employee reorganizations, the company said in its 10-K report filed March 25. As of Feb. 2, 2024, it had nearly 120,000 employees, down from about 126,000 a year earlier.

5. Wipro promotions - Indian IT services firm Wipro has promoted six employees to senior vice president roles and 25 others to vice president roles, Reuters reported, based on memos it had seen.
